Marcus Smart Frankly, the current “hell” he and the rest of the Boston Celtics have been through over the past week.

Celtics fire coach days after Udok’s name The 28-year-old defender spoke to reporters at media day about the team’s handling of the coach’s suspension after learning on social media for breaking team rules.

“It was hell for us,” Marcus said, interpreting sports reporter Jared Weiss September 26. “It happened when we didn’t have time to figure it all out before media day… We just found out, just like you, so we’re doing our best to deal with it.”

While the team is going through a rough patch right now, Marcus said they’re just trying to get through it when training camp starts this week.

“No one died, so we didn’t lose anything,” said the defending Defensive Player of the Year. “I still love me as a person and as a coach. It’s just that unfortunate things happened to him. It didn’t cost him anything as a coach, the way he changed this team.”
