After launching the epic TV series The Lord of the Rings on Prime Video last month, it’s no surprise that the streaming giant is going easy on this October. Still, they have plenty of new reveals and movies coming out, though none quite comparable to their journey to Central Earth.
Still, with their new sequence, “The Periphery,” they switch from fantasy worlds to science fiction. The time-travel sequence is touted as being created by HBO’s Westworld creators Lisa Pleasure and Jonathan Nolan, and relies on creator William Gibson’s best-selling science fiction novel.
According to the official plot, The Peripheral follows Flynne Fisher (Moretz), a girl who tries to collect the belongings of her damaged family into a forgotten corner of tomorrow’s America. Flynn was wise, bold, and doomed. She has no future; until the long calls to her. “The Periphery” is William Gibson’s dazzling, hallucinatory glimpse into the fate of humanity — and everything in the past.
The first episode will fully premiere on Prime Video on October 21, with a brand new episode every Friday until December 9.
