Joe Biden bypasses DeSantis, calls local mayors about Hurricane Ian

As Hurricane Ian approaches, President Joe Biden continues to succeed in front of different leaders in Florida than Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.

On Tuesday afternoon, Florida political reporter Jay O’Brien reported on Twitter that Biden has not yet contacted DeSantis about the state’s plans to deal with the hurricane, but he has The mayors of several cities that were attacked were contacted as needed. These included Tampa Mayor Jane Custer and St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch, both Democrats, as well as O’Brien and the latter’s tweets about his name on Biden.

“Thanks to @POTUS for calling now to reassure us that the government is monitoring #HurricaneIan 24 hours a day and underscoring the importance of infrastructure enhancements to our critical projects,” Welch tweeted a photo of himself answering the decision. “As important occasions as Hurricane Ian have no boundaries for social gatherings, it’s paramount that we put the protection and well-being of our residents first. In a separate tweet on Tuesday, Biden confirmed he was also involved with Republican Mayor Frank Hibbard of Clearwater, Florida. FEMA Director Deanne Criswell was with him on the phone.

The reason for Biden not contacting DeSantis is unclear. DeSantis, who is widely seen as eyeing the 2024 presidential race, has taken quite a few adversarial blows to the Democratic campaign along with Biden himself. The experience surfaced last week that DeSantis plans to recruit a whole new group of immigrants to fly a space near Biden’s Delaware residence after sticking to a similar stunt he previously performed at Martha’s. In response to these studies, Biden welcomes potential immigrants.

Although WPTV Information reported that the same company that operated the Martha’s Distillery flight had paid $950,000 at the same time the Delaware rumors surfaced, the rumored flight did not come. When asked, DeSantis declined to mention the difficulty.
