Kelly Ripa fears Mark Consuelos’ divorce is a vacancy
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ marriage changed after their children entered college, leaving talk show hosts worried they would be “divorced” as empty nesters.
“It’s scary, exciting, liberating, shocking…and quiet,” co-host of ‘Living with Kelly and Ryan’ people say Her new dynamic with the “Riverdale” star in an interview published Monday.
“Sometimes I think, ‘We’re going to be that couple: Our third child is going to college and we’re going to get a divorce because that’s what it is,'” she explained.
Ripa, 51, admitted to the magazine that she and Consuelos, also 51, were “too young” when they married in May 1996 at the age of 25.
“On paper, it shouldn’t work, and when it doesn’t, we’re really working on it,” she said.
“We fought for our marriage when it was easier for us to quit and throw in the towel.”
Ripa – who shares Michael, 25, Lola, 21 and Joaquin, 19, with Consuelos – said “the next phase of [their] Her life was… kind of great,” recalls the turning point at the beach with her husband.
“These other parents were running around with their young children,” she recalls. “I realized I never saw the sun go down because I made sure our kids didn’t fall into the water without me noticing.”
Ripa opened up about her sex life, telling the magician she had “no taboos” when she slept with her former “My Child” star.
“[That’s] It’s always been a really good part of our lives,” she gushed. “It’s okay to fight. “
Ripa is no stranger to her chemistry with Consuelos.
Ripa told viewers of her ABC show in September 2021 that her husband was using “sexy time” to solve his problems.
In June 2019, she and the actor wondered how their daughter got into their relationship and said Lola told them, “You’ve just ruined my birthday and my life and what I’m seeing is colored , everything is grey now.”
Lola started her first year at NYU in 2019, the year before Michael graduated from the same school.
Joaquin began studying at the University of Michigan in 2021.
