The suspect repeatedly stabbed a Metro bus driver in Woodland Hills Wednesday night before fleeing on foot.

A call about the incident was made at Erwin Street and Topanga Canyon Boulevard at around 5:15 p.m.

The attack happened after a male suspect boarded the bus and began arguing with the driver. As the altercation escalated, it spilled off the bus and onto the sidewalk, where the MTA operator was stabbed multiple times in the upper body by the suspect before fleeing eastbound on Irving Street.

The suspect is described as a 21-year-old male, approximately 6 feet tall, with curly blond hair and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black Adidas backpack, red shirt and black pants.

Currently, our investigation is focused on the Woodland Hills area, but the suspect could be anywhere in the San Fernando Valley or nearby areas, and the suspect could still be riding an MTA bus or public transportation, including carpool.
