Without any official announcement about the Pixel Pill, it will continue to expire sometime in 2023, thanks to a temporary teaser at Google I/O.There are now 91 mobile phones (opens in a brand new tab) Some details are gleaned from the system as it is said to be making its way into its engineering section.
The concepts come from developer Kuba Wojciechowski, who has leaked a number of Pixel Pill secrets and techniques, most of which reveal that it’s a tool that’s done for market funding (though there may be a possible pro configuration in the works).
The latest details could push the Pixel pill out of the fund into the mid-range. Initially, it will apparently include 128GB or 256GB of internal storage, which may seem like a load compared to the Amazon Fireplace Pill, but could be available for less than 16GB on the 7-inch model.
You need to keep in mind that Google will never include expandable storage in its Pixel phones, and that’s likely the case with the Pixel Pill: your purchases will always be caught. Still, these are some of the best iPads in terms of features.
Second, with a 10.95-inch display, the Pixel pill is obviously going to be bigger than you might think. That makes a lot of sense when you consider that it appears to be set to moonlight as the Nest Hub when not in use. In short, it helps that the larger display is easy to see across the room when docked.
Two different small factors stand out from the report. For one, it will help with WiFi 6, as previous reports suggest that there are no mobile or GPS sensors to track outside of your property’s WiFi community. Second, Google appears to be equipping the system with its personal USI 2.zero stylus (Common Stylus Assist), in addition to helping with third-party styluses. If it wasn’t called the Pixel Pen, Google would lack the gravity trick.
Previously, Wojciechowski revealed that the pill will use the last 12 months of the Tensor chipset and 4GB of RAM. That means spec-wise it should be no less efficient than the $449 Pixel 6a, which has the same processor but 2GB more RAM.
With Google’s pure Android 13 model unencumbered by customization and a bloated human interface, an extra modest spec sheet still runs it effectively. With plenty of cabinet space and a large display, the Pixel Pill could effectively position itself in the mid-range non-iOS pill market.
While the upcoming October 6th Made by Google event is meant to be related to the Pixel 7, Pixel Watch, and new Nest gadgets, we expect to hear some additional details about the Pixel Pill after that as well. Even if it’s just to find out exactly when 2023 is, we’ll have one.
